Lilly Allen passes up Bitcoin fortune

Singer Lily Allen has called herself an “idiot” after admitting she turned down “hundreds of thousands of Bitcoins” as payment for an online concert.

Lily was asked to play a gig on the virtual world website, Second Life,  5 years ago. Although the exact sum wasn’t specific, the fee back then would have been worth, at most, a few hundred dollars.

She revealed her regret in a tweet on Sunday:

At present valuations, 200,000 Bitcoins would be worth over $186 million – at least 20 times the $9m fortune she has earned in her career as a singer so far.
